Presented to the public on the 22nd of January 2011 at the Archaeological Museum of Carmo, in Lisbon, the eleventh issue of the “Medieval Archaeology” journal publishes a series of communications resulting from the International Conference held in Mértola in 2007, entitled “Trade in the Ancient Mediterranean – Objects of Exchange”. The urban spaces, pottery, metal items and commerce are some of the recurring themes in this issue, among others, giving the journal the variety that makes it unique.
