Inkwell

Name: Inkwell

Description: Small cylindrical inkwell with seven holes, also cylindrical, which must have been used to hold ink. In between these reservoirs there are smaller carved openings with the approximate shape of an inverted pyramid.

Chronology: Second half of the 12th century / first half of the 13th century

Excavations in the Citadel of the Castle of Mértola – August 2012

In August 2012, Mértola’s Archaeological Site, in collaboration with the Municipality of Mértola, will conduct another excavation campaign in the Citadel of the Castle of Mértola with the involvement of volunteers.



The excavation campaign will have two rounds of two weeks each, with volunteers from several Portuguese universities.



At the time there are still some vacancies.

The Scientific Repository of CAM, whose fundamental objective is to store, preserve and disseminate the scientific output of the institution in digital format has, at this time, 100 deposits and 2151 downloads, only in the current year.



This means that CAM provides 100 full-text documents, in open access, for all users and without cost, thus contributing to reaffirm its scientific relevance, fruit of its research activity in the last thirty years.
